SCENERY EXPEDITIONS
SAFARI - KATAVI -MAHALE MOUNTAINS N.P
TRIP SUMMARY:
This tour takes you to visit 2 of the 3 exclusively western
circuit National parks of Tanzania for game drives and
walking while tracking the Chimps where few number of
tourists travel to. These tour sites are Katavi and Mahale
Mountains National parks where you will stay for 3 nights in
Katavi and 3 nights in Mahale. The park hosts small and
large mammals including the RARE CHIMPANZEE which are not
found in any other wildlife reserve in Tanzania, it is also
home to variety of birds species and reptiles. Accommodation
in tented camp with bush shower or basic camping booked on
full board arrangements. You will enjoy and experience
nature, wildlife on game drives, habit and habitat of the
fauna and flora in the natural areas.
ITINERARY
Trip Plan: Day 1: Into Katavi N.P
- In the early day take a chartered flight from Arusha or
from Dar es Salaam or from Zanzibar into Katavi National
Park. After lunch proceed with afternoon game drives dinner
and overnight in Tented Camp FB.
Day 2 – 3: Katavi National Park
- These two days you will have different activities in this
untouched area of the western part of Tanzania. Very nice
walking and driving for game viewing both mornings and
afternoons visit the most wonderful parts of the park to see
hippos, buffalos, lions, crocodiles, elephants, elands, roan
and sable antelopes, hyenas including birds. You will have
all meals and night in your tented camp FB
Day 4: Katavi – Mahale Mountains N.P
- Breakfast in your camp followed by short charter flight to
Mahale Mountains National park where you will arrive there
in less than an hour. Relax at leisure in the camp waiting
for hot lunch, there after, proceed with walking in the
wilderness with a guide just not far from the camp and as
the sun goes down return to your camp for dinner and
overnight FB
Day 5 – 6: Two days in Mahale N.P
- These days you will be trekking and tracking the
Chimpanzees and you will do snorkeling and something very
interesting Fish for your meals. Enjoy the beautiful scenery
of the Mahale Mountains forest, views and the lake
Tanganyika the longest and after lake Baikal in Siberia, the
second deepest fresh water in the world. The chimps are the
major attraction of the park and the lake bordering with the
soft sand beach on the west side of the park. You will have
all meals and nights in the camp. FB
Day 7: Mahale – Next travel
- Breakfast in your camp then transfer to the airstrip for
return charter flight to Arusha Dar Zanzibar or to your next
travel. End of tour.
