Nine days Ape Tracks Mahale & Gombe stream National Parks

TRIP SUMMARY:

This tour will take you to track the Chimpanzee in the 2 of the 3 western circuit parks of Tanzania. These park in the western corner of the country both Mahale Mountains National park and Gombe Stream National park are bordered westward with the great world’s deepest lake Tanganyika. 3 nights in Mahale and 3 nights in Gombe and also 2 nights in Kigoma town will be enough for you to enjoy and explore the areas. Lake Tanganyika and Chimpanzees are the major attractions of the areas whereby the environments adopt other residency mammal species and variety of birds species and reptiles, accommodation in Tented camp with bush shower or budget camping booked on full board arrangements. You will enjoy and experience nature, wildlife on game drives, habit and habitat of the fauna and flora in the natural areas.

ITINERARY

Trip Plan: Day 1: Into Gombe N.P

- In the morning charter flight from Arusha or from Dar or from Zanzibar or any park airstrip to Kigoma in the Westside of Tanzania. You will arrive in Kigoma after 4 hours there after transfer by boat on lake Tanganyika or charter flight to arrive in Gombe Stream national park in time for lunch. Afternoon take a short walk enjoying the scenery of this virgin land and evening as the sun goes down return to the camp for dinner and overnight. FB

Day 2 - 3: Gombe N.P

- Tow days in Gombe Steam National Park. Activities will include Chimpanzee tracking hiking swimming snorkeling and also visit the site of Henry Stanley’s famous Dr. Livingston at Ujiji and if time allows visit dhow builder right at work. You will have all meals and nights in your camp. FB

Day 4: Gombe – Kigoma

- Breakfast at Gombe followed by boat transfer return to Kigoma for lunch. Afternoon relax at leisure in the lodge waiting for dinner and overnight in Lake Tanganyika beach hotel Kigoma hilltop hotel. FB

Day 5: Kigoma – Mahale Mountains N.P

- Wake up at 0550jhrs for early morning breakfast then catch a boat on Lake Tanganyika or an hour charter flight to Mahale Mountains national Park relax until lunch hours. Afternoon proceed with easy walk tracking the Chimpanzees evening enjoy the sun set dinner and overnight in the camp. FB

Day 6 - 7: Two days in Mahale N.P

- These two days hiking and tracking the Chimps in this untouched area other activities include birding snorkeling and fishing for your meals. All meals and nights in your accommodation FB

Day 8: Mahale – Kigoma

- Breakfast in your camp followed by boat or a flight back to Kigoma for lunch. Afternoon at leisure in the hotel waiting for dinner and overnight in Lake Tanganyika beach hotel Kigoma hilltop hotel. FB

Day 9: Kigoma – Next Travel

- After breakfast check out and transfer to airstrip for a scheduled or charter flight to Dar or your next travel. End of tour.
